As a young Black woman who grew up in the heart of South London, the culture is an integral part of my being. It’s a phrase often used to acknowledge and celebrate the Black community—and for good reason. So many things connect me to my community, but above all, it's music. From Reggae and Lovers Rock to Hip Hop and R&B, these genres shaped my personality and the way I connected with people. I’ve built lifelong friendships through music—reciting lyrics to each other, swapping playlists, and building memories. I’ve even dabbled in a bit of song writing and freestyle rapping, just to pass time with my mates. Those good times deepened my appreciation for artistry, lyrics, and melody. My radio show will bring those vibes straight to your speakers—bringing back the feeling of being at uni, chilling in the park with your besties, escaping the ever-encroaching pressures of the world. We've all been there: maybe you're feeling low, so you throw on some old-school Mary J. Blige; or it’s carnival season, the sun’s out, and you blast Kes the Band to get ready to show Notting Hill what your waistline can do. Even today, artists are still using music to reach their communities. Whether they’re new voices expressing themselves for the first time, or seasoned artists reconnecting with their roots—Vibrant Radio will be the space that bridges that gap. Whether it’s kicking new flavour in your ear or bringing that old thing back, my show will give the listeners exactly what they need.
